Please help Find This Stolen Quilt

The Herman Family Quilt was stolen from my brother's car in Spokane, Washington between October 9-13, 2005.

Constructed in 1993, the quilt is very large, about a king bedspread size, with 42 blocks 11" or 12" separated by blue sashing. Machine pieced and hand quilted with interlocking circles in the sashing.

Each block was designed by a Herman family member for an auction at the annual family reunion. Most blocks are muslin. Some blocks are painted, others embroidered (both hand and machine), some have photo transfers and a few of the blocks are pieced.

Notable blocks include:

  • Hand embroidered pheasant with the words "Herman Family Reunion"
  • "Will the circle be unbroken" painted in a circle photos of my grandparents on their wedding day and when they were older (John Melvin and Earnestine Herman)
  • A flag flanked by "Herman Family Reunion" and "A fun time on the 4th"
